Procrastination is not a tendency or a hobby, it is a lifestyle choice. Homework is the least of my worries at 11pm on a school night, because what could possibly be more important than finding new bands. Maybe I'll do some sketch work in my notebook at 1 am, which sounds like a pressing matter. Also, my room looks kind of messy, might want to clean that up a little bit before I start my work. Oh crap, can't forget Buzzfeed. I don't think I can move on with my life before knowing what John Hughes movie character I'm most like.

One word, “Netflix.” DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW AMAZING THE INDIE MOVIES ON NETFLIX ARE? They’re so beautiful and heartwarming and real and definitely are not going to help me do anything productive. Nice knowing you good grades, it wasn’t fun while you lasted.

Have you ever thought of how small we are in this world? Awake at 2am on a school night version of me has. But think about it, we’re just little specks in this world, and chances are, not many people know of your existence outside the confines of this small town. To make matters worse, every single human being currently living on planet earth is going to be dead at some point in time. Unless you are outstandingly famous, your death will probably not affect a tremendous amount of people. That is an incredibly terrifying thought, but we all must face this thought eventually. What better time to face it than when you’re supposed to be working diligently on homework?

If I’m being entirely honest, I checked out of biology class about a month ago. As long as my body is functioning properly, I do not wish to know how. I know I should care about these things, but I cannot help but ask the most frequently asked question by teenagers, which is: “How is this material going to apply to my everyday life?” Of course, considering the fact that I want to be a nurse for the terminally ill, I may want to rethink my purpose of asking this question, but I’m just a kid; how would I know any better?

Have you ever heard of the butterfly effect? If you haven’t, basically it states that everything has some sort of impact on at least one other thing. For instance, someone in Australia boils some pasta, the condensation from this goes into a cloud in the sky, which eventually makes it rain in Massachusetts. It’s a beautiful philosophy and DANGIT I HAVE AN ESSAY DUE IN CREATIVE WRITING TOMORROW.
